I went to Barnes and Noble the other day and the place was filled with people sitting around drinking coffee while using their computers (Free Wifi!). Most of them did not have a book near them and I did not see a single Nook in the lot. I keep reading that bookstores are a dying industry. Unless I’m missing something and B&N is actually doing something to get more people to actually buy their products, I think they are going to end up a glorified coffee shop with free Wifi and a few bookshelves.

Update: I recently read that B&N is getting out of the Nook manufacturing business and going to focus more on the App/software side of the e-book business. Good for them, but still, walk through any B&N coffee shop and see how many people there are even using the app. I love bookstores, but I think the big chains are a dying breed.
